Sonneveld was awarded an ‘Excellent’ score by AIB International on Friday 1st October 2010. The AIB food safety and hygiene standard is one of the strictest standards in the world and is recognised on a global scale. Sonneveld is the first Dutch company in the bakery industry with an AIB Excellent certificate.
The Sonneveld Group B.V. from Papendrecht has managed to pass the annual AIB audit with flying colours. Sonneveld sees its voluntary participation with the AIB programme as an extra stimulant for improving its work processes and food safety. The AIB audit also instantly results in major involvement by the production floor employees. ‘We take our responsibility in the bakery chain very seriously indeed’, according to Cees Hack, General Director. ‘Achieving this high score is the crowning glory of our efforts where food safety and quality management are concerned’.
Sonneveld has been participating with the American Institute of Baking (AIB)’s ‘Food Safety Audit’ system since 2007. This standard is internationally recognised as one of the strictest for guaranteeing food safety. Sonneveld had already achieved the standard AIB certificate (certificate of achievement) in previous years.
Sonneveld is an innovative supplier of bakery ingredients and has always been involved with improving its products’ quality and food safety. For example, Sonneveld was the first company in the bakery industry to achieve the ISO 9001:2000 and the ISO 22000 certificates and Sonneveld is also, to name but one, BRC certified.
