07 October 2009 - Sonneveld Group obtains AIB certificate (Corporate News)

Upon being audited by the AIB (American Institute of Baking) on 24th and 25th September 2009, the Sonneveld Group B.V. has been awarded the AIB-certificate (certificate of achievement). The AIB food safety and hygiene standard is acknowledged internationally as the most stringent and receives worldwide recognition.

AIB

AIB International's objective is to safeguard safety in the food chain, whilst at the same time offering technical support and training. By the implementation of a rigorous regime of inspections, audits and training, it both educates and helps companies to achieve a higher level of food safety. This is based upon the formation of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice)-teams. The members of these teams are drawn from various disciplines, and all are personnel who are involved in part of the production process on a daily basis. Better results are consistently strived for by a process of internal GMP-audits. Sonneveld has successfully implemented these GMP-teams.

Sonneveld's objective

For many years now, Sonneveld has continuously endeavoured to improve the quality and safety of its food products. For example, Sonneveld was the first company in the baking industry to obtain the ISO 9001:2000 and the ISO 22000 certificates, in addition to being HACCP and BRC certified. Sonneveld takes pride in having been awarded the AIB certificate. It is a clear demonstration of how the internal awareness raising process of continuous improvement in the field of food safety has once again taken a step further.
