Sustainability / SRE

People have been thinking and working in line with the SRE principles within some parts of the Sonneveld organisation for many years now. For example, we separate our waste, we carefully manage our energy consumption, we focus on the use of sustainable ingredients and we support Bake for Life.
Sonneveld further developed the SRE concept in 2009-2010 and organised for this to be implemented and carried out by three teams of employees. Colleagues voluntarily contributed to the three SRE pillars: People, Planet and Profit. Their initiatives formed the basis for most of the activities which Sonneveld rolled out during this period.
- Team People: all about captivating and binding colleagues and about their wellbeing.
- Team Planet: all about colleague awareness. Not just their behaviour whilst at work (lights off, using less paper), but also at home. How do you avoid unnecessary wastage?
- Team Profit: all about principles like ‘First time right' and ‘Code of conduct'. ‘First time right' is focussed on reducing failure costs, not just on the production floor, but throughout the entire company. Our ‘Code of conduct' has an important role in determining manners and etiquette, principles and assumptions regarding (sustainable) business.
The three teams were replaced by a SRE working group in 2011, which is firmly focussed on the ‘sustainability' subject across all departments.
