Bake for Life

Bake for Life gives young disabled people in third world countries a real opportunity in life. They do this through building bakeries where these disabled people are trained to become bakers. Learning these traditional skills gives these people the opportunity to earn an honest living, they earn a salary and can take responsibility for their own livelihoods. All the Bake for Life bakeries are run by local organisations. The Bake for Life people use their bakery skills to successfully set up a bakery in the third world.
A project team consisting of Marleen Pater, Christiena de Vries and Cees Hack are currently working on the Bake for Life Bakery College at the bakery in Tororo, Uganda.
