AIB (American Institute of Baking) International is a company founded by the North American wholesale and traditional bakery industry in 1919. The organisation’s original mission was: “putting science to work for the bakers”.

AIB International’s objective is to internationally guarantee food safety in the chain at process level and to also provide technical support and training. Companies will learn to reach higher levels of food safety through stringent inspections, audits and training. The basis for this is forming GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) teams. These teams consist of people from various different disciplines, who are involved with part of the production process every day.

The current AIB certificate is one of the most stringent in the world and is recognised globally.
