Sonneveld has developed two products that extend the shelf life of your bread products. These products are called Sonextra Natural Preserve and Sonextra Natural Preserve Soft.



Consumer demands
Bakery spoilage due to mould growth is an issue worldwide. Shelf life extension of baked products can prevent waste. This includes not only a spoilage and mould free shelf life of bread, but also prolonged softness. Shelf life extension is usually accomplished with preservatives like propionates and sorbates. These are very effective and have to be declared in the ingredient declaration with an E-number. With the increasing popularity of Clean Label products, the words ‘preservative’ and ‘E-number’ is not what the consumer wants to see.

Sonextra Natural Preserve
To follow up on these consumer demands, Sonneveld has developed two products that extend the shelf life of your bread products. These products are called Sonextra Natural Preserve and Sonextra Natural Preserve Soft and are based on dried wheat sourdough that contains natural propionic acid. All ingredients are guaranteed natural and no additives are added. The use of Sonextra Natural Preserve in bread provides shelf life enhancement as well as a mould inhibitor. Sonextra Natural Preserve Soft prevents mould growth and also gives extra softness to your baked products.
