13 January 2014 - A new year, new opportunities (Corporate News)

First of all I want to wish u, on behalf of all Sonneveld employees, a happy and successful new year. 2013 was a turbulent year in the bakery industry. Despite the crisis, we have helped many bakers by introducing new innovations and products and to support them. Next to that we have made new steps with the certifications and sustainable palm oil.

Review 2013

After a turbulent year in times of crisis, we can look back on a positive 2013. Several new products were successfully introduced to support the baker: Sonnique American Cream Cake, Sonextra Marinades and the Soft range (Proson Super Soft Roll and Sonplus Soft Silk).

Next to that we have been able to improve continuously our leading position in food safety, by letting ourselves be audited ‘unannounced’ by the American Baking Institute (AIB), Orkla Food Standards and Safety (OFSS) and the British Retail Consortium (BRC). Again these audits resulted in the ‘outstanding’ level in (food) safety and quality.

In terms of sustainability and corporate social responsibility, which now plays a major role in the bakery industry, we have been able to make a big step forward. As a member of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) all the palm oil products are and will be purchased, since September 2013, by the ‘Mass Balance' system. For more information, please see our special page on sustainable palm oil.

Preview 2014

In 2014 we continue with a lot of passion to support you and to keep bread in a positive manner. We will surprise you with new product introductions, capitalising on the current trends and the needs of consumers.

Thank you for your confidence in Sonneveld. Up to a positive collaboration in 2014!
