3 July 2014 - EBIC harvest and ancient grains seminar (Corporate News)

On the 9th of October 2014 the European Bakery Innovation Centre (EBIC) organises the harvest and ancient grains seminar. The harvest transition is an exciting moment every year. This year information will be given about ancient grains. You can also joint his seminar, sign up now via the website.

Harvest 2014
Subjects as the price, quality and availability of the European harvest will be discussed. As first company in the Netherlands EBIC organises the harvest seminar annually, since 2007. The seminar in 2014 will be special because the ancient grains will be discussed this year as well. This is an important trend in the bakery sector and during the ancient grains seminar all ins and outs will be discussed.

Ancient grains
Because there is a rising demand for authentic (real) products EBIC decided to add this subject to the program. The rising demand is a fact due to almost unavailability of Spelt and more new product launches with ancient grains. Examples of ancient grains are spelt, buckwheat, oat and rye.

Tentative program
The tentative program from the harvest and ancient grains seminar: Trends and developments in cereal and cereal trade, baking results and harvest in Germany, harvest quality France and the harvest quality in The Netherlands. Next to that oat, teff, rye, spelt and buckwheat will be discussed as ancient grain. At the end of the day the nutrition of grain will be put in perspective.
