22 October 2013 - Sonneveld makes important step in processing sustainable palm oil (Corporate News)

Sonneveld is committed to actively using natural ingredients in its production processes and therewith preserving the environment for future generations. As of September 2013 all palm oil products are purchased by using the ‘Mass Balance’ system. Besides this, as of this date all systems have been equipped to process sustainable palm oil.

Sonneveld frontrunner in processing sustainable palm oil

Sonneveld, as one of the frontrunners and a member of the RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) since 2010, together with other Dutch companies, made sure regulations were created concerning the production of sustainable palm oil. This resulted in the compensation of the complete usage of palm oil by GreenPalm certificates via the Book & Claim principle.

Mass Balance and Segregated RSPO certification

In September 2013 Sonneveld has set the next step and purchases palm oil products by using the ‘Mass Balance’ system. Besides this, as of this date all systems have been equipped to process sustainable palm oil. Sonneveld has received an official certificate of RSPO for this. This certificate states that all systems Sonneveld is using for the production of its products, are certified for Mass Balance (MB) and the last step Segregated (SG), which will be implemented at the latest in 2015.
